Wines and Spumanti
Borgo Sosio wines are a new feature on the landscape, bringing together the latest developments in technology and the favourable soil/ climate conditions of select areas under cultivation to produce a quality product. The unique wines produced, with DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) and IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) certification, contain the very best of native and international grape varieties: Nero d’Avola, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah e Chardonnay.
The principles applied to Borgo Sosio wines can also be used to describe Borgo Sosio spumanti and fortified wines. Of those produced by the Borgo Sosio Company, Brut and Rosé Extra Dry merit particular mention.
The former is made from 100% Grillo grapes, straw-coloured with a rich bouquet, refined and well-balanced, recalling spring flowers.
These are all characteristics which make this Brut ideal as an accompaniment to fish, shellfish, in short, all kinds of celebrations.
Rosé Extra Dry is made from 100% Nero D’Avola grapes and it has a lively perfume and notes of forest fruits, making it ideal as an aperitif or to drink with smoked fish and shellfish.
